Welcome to my meditation post. Meditation is very hard. I have been practicing for a long time ,but still use a guided app. In this post, I will talk about the guided app I use and suggest some helpful websites for your meditation practice.
" Meditation is a process of lightening up, of trusting the basic goodness of what we have and who we are, and of realizing that any wisdom that exists, exists in what we already have. We can lead our life so as to become more awake to who we are and what we’re doing rather than trying to improve or change or get rid of who we are or what we’re doing. The key is to wake up, to become more alert, more inquisitive and curious about ourselves.” – Pema Chodron.”
Insight Timer
This is the app that I use for my meditation practice. I have a really hard time trying to focus. Alot of the times I have 25 things running through my mind on a daily basis. As you all are aware i do a lot of yoga which helps me clear my head. I was always told that mediation is key to have a successful mind, body, and soul. I tried doing it on my own and it was disaster as all I did was think about the 25 things going in my head and then thinking about them as I was trying to ignore them, didn't get past 1 minute. I realized that I needed a guided app, so a good friend of mine told me about Insight Timer. You can download it in the app store. There are multiple options so you can chose what works best for you. I personally like to do a 5 minute guided app before bed. It helps me sleep much better. As I mentioned before, I constantly have about 25 different things running through my head so sleep was a challenge for me for a while. I do find myself falling asleep quicker when I do this before bed. I also use a quick guided session after I practice yoga. This post isn't me telling you that you should meditate the exact same way I do, it is about you finding the best way for you to meditate. I promise it will clear your mind, and yes it will be challenging as we all have so much going on in our lives. If you find yourself floating away from your meditation, that is great, because it is acknowledgement. So congratulations as that is the 1st step of mediation (my opinion) #meditation #acknowledgement #shinebright
